Have been very satisfied with Dr Okera's careful management of my glaucoma over the past 5 years, plus he's done an excellent job of diagnosing and treating my daughter's keratoconus.

They're pleasant enough but they don't go out of their way to volunteer any information or anything. They said they would call my daughter when I finished in my appointment as I had no credit on my phone, but she waited half an hour out in the car with her young son and I waited an hour and a half in the waiting room because they didn't call. My daughter spent five minutes on the phone without even getting onto anyone, being bounced around, pressing numbers and listening to voice messages before giving up. The doctor told me I need an appointment for 11months time but the receptionist said they only take appointments 6 months in advance. Poor customer service.
After reading the existing reviews I find it hard to believe this is the same practice I have attended several times over many years. From the reception staff to the surgeon who fixed my cataracts, I have never experienced anything other than courtesy and thoroughly professional behaviour. In fact my husband is about to undergo treatment there too. I would recommend them to anyone needing treatment.
I have been a patient of Dr Okera for the past 2 years. I have nothing but the highest praise for this excellent and compassionate eye specialist. I had cataract surgery at Calvary Hospital and follow ups at Dr Okera’s Clinic. Because of family circumstances and an underlying anxiety, I was a very nervous patient, but Dr Okera and the attending staff including the anaesthetists and nurses were brilliant. I’ve been having follow ups at Canberra Eye Surgeons and have the highest regard for all the staff at the clinic. Thank you everyone !
The eye clinic is horrible, they are always in hurry especially Dr Young. Less knowledge and wants to get over with patients in a hurry. Better go to a better clinic.
In the past 20 years I had three cornea transplants and many related procedures at Chatswood Eye Institute NSW, No complaints. Because of logistics now for past two years I am being cared for by Dr. Okera, Canberra Eye Surgeons, who was highly recommended by Dr. Lawless Chatswood. I found Dr. Okera exceptional caring, thorough, dedicated to his patient Doctor, a Doctor who places patients welfare above all else. Ten out of ten for this Ophthalmologist. Absolutely appalling the way the receptionist have spoken and handled a situation I could not believe the way she was acting absolutely embarrassing for the company. I would suggest Canberra eye hostipal have a look into her and get her sorta this is not the way to act in a workplace.
The receptionist was extremely rude at appointment even coming out in front of other patients disputing an issue even when explaining to her what happened on day of surgery and not being told at appointment of payment details. Surgeon was hard to contact when experiencing complications
