Visited DRU on fund-raising day event. Great to see such caring and animal loving volunteers. So many rescued and well cared animals. Property is huge with a lake, animals are well separated. Recommend for all to support.

Such an amazing cause! Been looking forward to visiting DRU for awhile now, and it did not disappoint. What Kate and the girls are doing for animals is heart warming. We had a lovely tour guide who knew all the animals and all their personalities. We loved all the little details like Onyx the pig’s favourite music being Frank Sinatra. The tour wasn’t rushed either, it’s a very laid back place. You’re free to look around once the tour is finished too. It’s very hot out there in the summer so bring a hat, water bottle and sunscreen.

This is a lovely sanctuary with a good cause. True farm experience so close to the city! The volunteers running the place clearly care deeply for the rescues and there are so many sweet animals to see! Fantastic place to visit with children and/or friends.

Wonderful tour guide called Gordon who knew all the animals - lots of them - by name. Very knowledgeable & informative. Great value for money. Very hot with minimal shade. DRU need visitors to help their cause; tours pay their bills so support this worthy cause. Wear sturdy shoes - it's a farm so plenty of mud & poop.

We did this tour today with Lucy and Allanah. It was lovely to see that so many people are obviously dedicated to caring for animals that would otherwise be on deathrow. The animals certainly seemed to be respected, cared about and well provided for, with respect to food, drink, shelter, veterinary care and green paddocks. It's a great opportunity for children to see a variety of animals and to even be able to pat and feed some of them. The staff members were very informative and knowledgeable. There must be a dedicated team of volunteers who work behind the scenes, demonstrated by facilities such as clean and full water troughs and even a misting shed to keep the cattle cool. The latter was certainly appreciated by the cattle in the heat today!

Would be great if they had signs around the animal pens. About the animals. But it is a great place to visit with the kids even though you can't pat many different kinds of animals.
