Very interesting local history.

Visited the Centre back in 2013, and went back for another look. In a time when the Catholic Church could do with a good news story, this is it. Why the Catholic hierarchy choose not to celebrate it is a mystery to me. The Centre is now digitising all its documents, as well as its photographs, so it is a mine of information for anyone with connections to the Community in Broome. The Centre handles all the information sensitively and with respect to the Aboriginal Community. What the Sisters and the Community have achieved is very human story of their history

If you've travelled to Broome with your kids for the school holidays, why not attempt to show them how very fortunate they are - and the joy one can find in helping others. The centre has lots of fabulous photos to keep everyone interested. Also, the staff are lovely and ready to answer any questions. I enjoyed reading the available material and looking at the fabulous photos. I would love to have purchased a book containing the stories of the sisters and the majority of the photos displayed.

This place is wonderful! There are many interactive sites available to either find people or track down town events and social history. I volunteer there once a week and get to meet some amazing people who are more than happy to share their local knowledge and or history. Don't expect to race through in 30 minutes because once you get started you can be led up many garden paths depending on your interests. Your can find out all about Cyclone Tracey, or the leprosarium and many other interesting facts. Who were the wonderful nuns who put up with so much discomfort to treat and teach the local people? Go in and find out for yourselves.
