Spent a lovely day on the Post man ferry service. Very good lunch (ploughmans) , very interesting commentary by the ferry master

The ferry boat driver was very helpful and welcoming. He made sure he accommodated for all the passengers not just some. There is options for passengers with disabilities and wheelchairs. It was a quick 30 minute trip and we saw many jellyfish on the way
Ferry price is competitive and fair. Even though I was a student and forgot to bring the blue transport concession card I was kindly told by the skipper that next time I should bring it Skipper was very friendly, and the boat was in excellent condition. I got to take a lot of photos/videos even though the ferry only went to Dangar Island. The skipper said to me to come for the 10:15am or 2pm service to have it stop at all stops so the trip takes a scenic route.
Every time I need to catch the ferry my day is instantly ruined by my interactions with the drivers (the younger ones are an exception and are really great). They will come up with any excuse to not let you on so be careful not to carry one too many bags or the wrong sized object. There is no description on what you can or cannot take on yet they will pull you up at any time point. One day their card reader did not work but would not let you on without cash that you cannot get anywhere. Do not rely on this service as you may be disappointed, I would book the water taxi. On a day where I just needed someone to be kind, they were not.
Nice 45 mins experience on the ferry. Paid 15 per person for to and fro experience. Ferry stopped at Dangar (15 mins) good enough for a quick coffee at a small cafe on the Dangar wharf. Then we went to Wooby and then back to brooklyn. Dogs were allowed on the ferry. The ferry driver was kind and let us go on front deck with children. We saw a lot of jelly fish on the way to Dangar.
An excellent ferry service that services the popular Dangar Island from Brooklyn. Great views of the Hawkesbury River and the rail bridge during the trip. The vessel we rode appeared to be reasonably new. Very comfortable. We paid just over 8 each way for the trip to the island. The ferry stop is located about 300 metres north of the Hawkesbury River railway station.
Awesome day out.
Love this outing, great commentary, food and views
