Queensland Oil Refinery Holdings is developing a 160,000 barrel per day capacity oil refinery project at Gladstone in Queensland, Australia. The project will deliver enhanced energy security by adding much needed increases in the storage capacities of crude oil and finished, refined products. The project and its supply chains will contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 500,000 tons per year when compared to the current fuel import model. Great Barrier Reef region fuel related shipping will be reduced by over 50% and the current number of fuel related truck movements in Central Queensland (standing at over 350,000) will also be significantly reduced by QOR adopting rail as its preferred, main mode of product distribution. We'll need over 2,200 people to construct the refinery and will provide over 500 full time positions during operation.
