Stunning area in a convenient central location. A beautiful quiet place to sit and have lunch or just watch the World go by. Provides access to the train station also. Main buses including free loop buses leave from right near here too.

The Galleries underneath the memorial have an inconspicuous entrance but are worth a look inside. The memorial plaques have been refurbished and are very interesting to look at: the casualty statistics are certainly pause for thought. There are also some huge touch screens that allow you to explore WWII locations around Brisbane and the rest of QLD, many of which I had never known about before.

The galleries was ok. Lots of work has been put into the WW1 and WW2 sections, but there is a relatively empty room with a couple of tvs for every single conflict since WW2. Could really use some effort into this part of the display.

Great place to pay tribute to the fallen soldiers right in the middle of CBD with nice surroundings in the garden and statues. The atmosphere is quite and peaceful only minutes walk from office buildings in the area for a quick time out or lunch.
