Hidden gem! We often bring our daughter down to see and touch the friendly horses. The river runs through as well and is really tranquil

Peaceful and relaxing, hard to believe its so close to suburbia.
Leitchs Crossing has changed considerably since my earliest visits (1970s) when we drove across it utilising the short-cut through the South Pine River from Albany Creek to Strathpine. Instead of a gravel road we are now treated to a concrete walking / cycle path and a low bridge across the river. The crossing is essentially an animal paddock, but there is a little grassy area you might picnic on and lots of gravel that shifts around at the whim of periodic floodwaters. There is a playground and dog off-leash area high on the southern bank, but no facilities whatsoever down at the crossing: it is after all a floodplain.
Nice place to stop on a walk.
Favorite place for Miss Maggie to have a jump of the waterbank.
A good place to swim and fish. There are some horses as well. It is just a field and a creek passing through the field. So please do not expect any public toilets there. Lot of fishes are there in the creek.
Great area to take dogs to play off the leash and to swim in fresh water. Just keep them away from the cows & horses
Fresh air! Look after places like this, its great to have in your neighborhood.
