Colo Heights, Australia
Bob Turners Trail
N/A
4km down a well made track to a beautiful spot on the Colo River. The track is steep in parts (especially on the way back up!) but very manageable for anyone with even moderate fitness.

Very nice track suitable for beginners. Great views. Parking is limited.
It's quite steep at start and end but the rest is fairly flat, I wouldn't say a 'hard' walk if you used to walking in and around Sydney!
Had no idea what to expect, rocky dirt track for the drive in, roughly about 7 mins drive down to the track, no toilets or water fill stations. Definitely do take note of the risks stated on the sign, I probably wouldn't attempt this track with young children as it is not rail guarded with open "cliff face", made it more nerve wracking with my 4 kids there. We arrived late in the afternoon and couldn't complete it all the way down today however we will definitely head back and try the 7k round trip. What we had seen though was stunning. Sun setting, nature all round. Stunning!!
Have done this track several times now. It doesn't take as long as the sign suggests - an hour down and a little longer back up is pretty normal. It's an easy stroll, very well marked track. Depending on when you go, there can be quite a few people at the river. Lots of bushwalkers and some rafters. There's a sandy beach with a goanna and a koala behind it. It's a touch middy but a nice swimming hole as well. It's a peaceful spot to camp.
One of my favourite places. Though terribly burnt in Gospers mountain fires last year. V sad to see what used to be pristine sandy river now a muddy one. Slowly recovering tho forever changed I fear in my lifetime. The walk down is fine. Tho watch the temperature on your return. Carry plenty of water and if reasonable fitness you won’t have a problem
Not an overly difficult walking track, that works it’s way down to a nice spot by the Colo river. You can setup a little picnic spot and enjoy the open scenery and have a quick dip in the water to cool off. Make sure you pack decent amount of water to have whilst walking.
The firetrail is fine for normal passenger cars with some clearance; watch out for large potholes and logs and branches that may get caught underneath though. Trail down is steep and rocky in certain places. Vertical decent is about 300m from the car park to the river. No toilets or taps etc for drinking water.
