Unfortunately we did not have a great experience here today. We came in on our lunch break which is 1 hour long - usually plenty of time to eat in Blackwood as we are locals. We were not greeted to start with and could not find menus, there was only 1 person working and he was doing the cooking, taking of orders & cleaning all on his own. Once we were ready to order we were made to wait at the counter for a long time although the chef could see us he was busy cooking. When we did get served and put in our order we were told that some things weren't available and that our order was one of them. After having waited 15 minutes already to order we decided to stay and ordered something else. The drink I ordered was expired in January of 2021. There were 2 people ahead of us awaiting their meals and our food was still not out at 1.20pm - 45 minutes after our arrival. We then went to the counter and asked if our meals could be put in take away containers as we were running late to get back to work. We were told no because the takeaway containers are too small? Which is a bit odd for a cafe that offers takeaway and these were regular items on their menu. Then we we were told maybe one of the meals but not the other. We were eventually told it would be put in a takeaway container. We spent our entire lunch break waiting for food so were unable to eat. Once we did get to eat, the food tasted good but the chicken was burnt, the vegetables had grease dripping from them and the rice was dry. The 1 person who was doing everything was clearly overwhelmed hence the quality of the food was sub-par. The service was disappointing, the time it took was not acceptable and overall it was a very poor experience. Unfortunately we will not be returning.

Super delicious food especially the Egyptian breakfast option. A perfect spot if you are looking to experience new flavours. Very friendly owner and staff.

Beautiful Authentic Egyptian food. You can feel the Egyptian soul is in every corner. The owner cooks the food himself and he is really friendly, generous and a kind man. Highly recommended

We had really good mochas here today on a public holiday. Sat outside with our dog who got lots of love and pats.

I can't recommend this little cafe enough!! Set back from the main parade in Blackwood, with a relaxed style for quite coffee's or social gathering's. The large outdoor area is great this time of year (Dog & Bike friendly too). But what sets it apart from the others (and worth the drive)..... Amazing tastes from Egypt. The Egyptian Breakfast is the speciality... But I'm a simple girl, so Egyptian Beans with Potato toast is my go to breaky treat!! Not to mention the ice cold hibiscus drink.
