I got cut on my left hand. It is bleeding and it need stitches. Have been waiting from last 5 hours. Asked receptionist 2 times why they are not calling my name. But no response at all. One of the worst and slowest hospital ever. If you have an emergency then don't come to this hospital.

Visited emergency with a very bad toothache, the receptionists were busy taking calls, though I was in pain and was standing there for good 5 to 10 minutes but receptionists were taking calls on calls. When attended, the receptionist was rude and again took the call, later she said that it could take hours to see doctor, does that means emergency?

If you have an actual emergency, I wouldn’t go to Blacktown emergency department. My partner had a chemical burn from liquid ammonia. We arrived at the hospital at 7.30pm and the nurse checked his heart rate and said it was high, and were acting like it was serious. They then run his arm under water for 30 mins. They then sat us back in emergency, while they looked for litmus paper to check the PH levels to make sure the chemical was not still on his skin. We were told to wait and he would be back in 5 mins. This was at 9pm. 3.5 hours went by and no one came out. My partner asked if the guy had forgotten about him and the receptionist made a sarcastic comment saying he was still on the list. He told a nurse to give him some bandages and he would dress it himself and see a doctor the next day and she highly suggested he waits and that he was next on the list given he was at a massive risk of infection and the severe chemical burn covered his entire forearm. At 3:30, 8 hours after we arrived, we just left. The hospital left the burn exposed to the air, risking infection for 7 hours. Not to mention the other 20 people in emergency that were waiting and I saw a doctor maybe 2 times in the entire 7 hours actually call a patient to come in. So many people who looked like they were in a lot of pain just left because they had been waiting so long. I’ve never seen anything like it.

Wow....amazing tool my 16year old son to emergency on Fathers day afternoon after a dirt bike crash. Very fast, caring, concerned, thorough and friendly and all this on a afternoon and evening that was very busy. Well done to NSW public health and the team at Blacktown emergency. Thank you

Came midnight for epicanthic pain, really bad one, been waiting for almost four hours, not even pain killers given. And initially we’ve been told 7hrs waiting, three hours later it changed to 9hrs waiting. Since we arrived here, only saw Dr called pt once during this four hours. What an emergency!

One of the worst public hospital. Sitting with my 7 year old daughter cut on her forehead since 5:30pm and no doctor or nursing so far and it is 11:00pm now.
