This is a beautiful and peaceful space. I have found it to be a very healing experience overall. Sometimes the process is hard, and sometimes it's very comforting. What I find impressive is the incredible management and volunteer team. They are kind, generous, and extremely supportive and attentive. Thank you all for the work that you guys do.

one of the most sacred, practical and experiential teaching that leads to liberation, peace and harmony. I love Vipassana and so grateful to have a beautiful and powerful center in Blackheath! Thanks to all the volunteers who have served us, I thank you for your devotion and services!
In a bid to learn how to meditate, I downloaded apps like Headspace, Calm, and Waking up. While they did add some value, It's only after doing the 10 day course that I really understood how to meditate properly. The centre provides such a rare and precious environment to learn and practice meditation in full immersion. Where else can you get clear instructions, have accommodation and food taken care of by other volunteers (old students who have done the course previously). The tranquil environment this place provides really is a refuge from the chaotic world that has become our norm. I work in the stressful and demanding world of Enterprise Software Sales but at least for 10 days a year, I get to reset my mind and develop the wonderful skill of meditation. It has literally change my life and the lives of friends and family for the better!
The best thing you can do for yourself in this life
These 10 day courses will change your life for the better. One of the most challenging things I've done in my own life, but also one of the most rewarding. The center is especially beautiful in Spring.
I recommend everyone who is interested in meditation to visit this place, or a Goenka Vipassana centre like it somewhere in the world, at least once in their lives for the 10-day training. It was a life-changing experience for me to sit the course last year, and my ongoing practice of Vipassana continues to build on that experience. I have been back to Dhamma Bhumi twice since for shorter courses. It is an oasis of calm, tranquility, a beautiful place for reflection. With a team of volunteer teachers, servers and just all-round wonderful people. A place to begin to sharpen the awareness that so often remains clouded by our everyday trials and tribulations. And oh what we begin to realise as we focus attention on the breath, then sensation!! Go. Find the time. You will not regret it, if you go with an open mind and an open heart. With metta
I have been coming here regularly for the past 5 years and am grateful for each opportunity to deepen my meditation practice! A wonderful centre with great facilities.
It's been 20 years since I have been here, and after that first 10-day meditation which literally blew my mind, I am going again for a much needed rest from the increasingly irrelevant loud inept sounds that people are fond of making thinking it is empowering and shows character. When someone follows a program to follow for identity, something is deeply wrong. There are many meditation centres. None truly understand the power of gifting more than those that practice Vipassana. It is an extraordinary experience. People go many times which only illustrates the tragedy of the rest of the world that do not understand how powerful silence and not wasting energy is. I am not mincing words here. Silence is POWERFUL! Only make noise if it is required. If you are doing it all the time, then something is wrong. I learned a very powerful connection of myself and how I relate to the world, and how to empower it. It was a long ride, but So well worth it! I'm looking forward to being there again and reconnecting with those who know their empowerment in exercising peace. :)
