We have been coming to Bistro Moncur for many many years but were disappointed with our Lunch on Sunday. My Chicken Liver Pate seemed to be from the corner of the loaf and had a lot of fat all around it - not just a thin layer as usual. Our Opera Cake Dessert was served at the wrong temperature. It should have been taken out of the fridge at least an hour earlier. I am only mentioning this as I want to keep coming and this sort of thing never happened in the past. Diane Landes

Great food, great wine and great service! 750 for four so not cheap! I had the souffle (shared) followed by the cafe de Paris sirloin! Delicious!
Such a beautiful venue and casual but sophisticated restaurant.
I had the most amazing experience yesterday lunchtime. Food was excellent and staff, thanks Riley, was 100%. I truly recommend this institution. The oysters, chicken liver pate and duck cassoulet were second to none. Wine was a standout. Thank you for being the best restaurant I have been to in years. The fabulous shots next door at pub were amazing too. Thanks Paris and Max for also making this day one to remember...
First time dining at the this beautiful restaurant. The reservation for 7 people was missed even though the confirmation was made two days prior. We were happy to wait in the bar. The older gentleman (apologies as i didn't get his name) who serviced us provided a very rushed and rude service throughout the evening . No side plates provided for bread. i thought was strange .He also missed a couple of entrees that we ordered. We found his service dismissive and rude. In regards to the food on the evening it was hit and miss. Seasoning lacking on some dishes and others dishes we prefect and faultless .For the prices you charge i accepted a lot more then what i got. Feedback provided is only intended to improve the venue. Food 7/10 Service 5/10
Always fabulous ambience.. service is fabulous, food is excellent A pleasure to go to the restaurant
We had a delicious meal as always last night. It is my favourite special occasion restaurant. Something that has annoyed me for sometime is the credit card surcharge. With contactless payments being encouraged in these pandemic times .... and steaks now 55 ... another few dollars added after tip is not right. The business should cover this business cost in the high meal prices.
Sunday night at Bistro Moncur is a little bit like coming home. I guess the big difference being food is two or three steps up and it's not self-serve.. Why Sunday Night because we have travelled from Melbourne for the weekend and Sunday is the day before Monday being the day to go home. Food, wine and service always excellent. Bistro Moncur is a gem.
