Bin Chicken Island

Thank you and your friendly staff for a wonderful stay. We were so worried that with the border lockdowns we would not find anywhere in Victoria to spend Easter holidays. Imagine our delight when we found you had a vacancy! Rather than fly in we thought we would put the car on the ferry. (so handy to have the trailer for the jet skis and quad bikes) Also splashed out on a Premium Deluxe Royal Spa suite for the crossing. Totally worth it! The views of the historic walls and refashioned castle towers from the deck were superb. And the Diamond Princess buffet has nothing on the smorgasbord offered in one of the many on-board restaurants. As to the resort itself, the kids were entertained for hours in the Back To Nature Kids Klub. Came back home like regular little Greta Thunbergs ( but they might have been speaking Ibis rather than Swedish) And the unmissable highlight for the adults? The swim up bar of course!!! My partner loved the Strawnecked Suprise cocktail whereas I preferred the less tangy Misty Moorhen. Could rave on for ages about this place but suffice to say we will be telling all our friends about it. And I’m sure in the future we will be proud to say that we visited BC Island way way before it became too trendy. On that point, can you confirm Chris Hemsworth is seeking planning permission for a holiday home there? Hope to see you all again soon.

We had an amazing time. Bin bird spotting was a hit with the kids and the campfire cooked carp was divine. See you again next year
Kakadu of Coburg. A true refuge of free and greasy birds. Nothing like the smell of guano from a steady diet of plastic residue seeping from the colons of the glorious Bin Chicken.
10/10 would definitely stay again. Whilst it didn't lessen the enjoyment of our stay, the lazy river ride has a pretty steep drop-off near the bridge. But once we jumped in, the ride seemed to go for ages. It was a long walk back from Ceres to return the inner tubes. GREAT VALUE!
Looking forward to the new KFC being built on BCI it will really add to the ambiance. Hopefully the colonel will bring a new world of order to the rambunctious yet delicious locals. The Red rooster that is currently on site kept running out of stock and really is just a poor mans dirty bird anyway...... Keep up the good work BCI your deposits are always fresh and funky. Xxx
Easily one of the best inner city campgrounds of Melbourne. Alone the educational value - our children finally internalised the concept of sharing during dinner, as the birds can be quite assertive. The magical singsong of the birds then put a happy smile onto our kids face just before they fell asleep. Thanks for the stay.
Bin chicken campground best family camping this side of Elizabeth Street. Beautiful view of the lake with swimming and carp fishing too. Can get a little noisy when the long term residents squabble over hot chips. Also has a bit of a funky smell....
Nothing says "the great outdoors" like 300 bin chickens honking and squawking throughout the night over whatever bin chickens honk and squawk about. No need for a pit toilet because the whole island is already covered in bird excrement, so just go wherever you like.
