Dear Kombu, I read your last review and couldn't quite believe it. Every one to their own experience which is why I must write mine in response. I have been going to Kombu for years and the biggest reason I continue to support this business is the absolute beautiful staff that I have come to know and love. I can appreciate how busy you all are and I see it every time I'm in there, I am amazed how hard you all work and I believe that in all the years I've been coming that maybe one time I noticed a staff member didn't greet but I instantly said to myself "I bet they're having a bad day" so I turned around and said hi at which they quickly responded to me, in fact every single time I walk in to the Kombu store I am greeted. Every single member of the staff talks to me politely, respectfully and is always so incredibly eager to help me. I try not to burden any of you but at times when I've needed help you have dropped everything to come and help me. I have said to Kevin for years how valuable his staff are how amazing his staff are and how I've noticed them to be such incredibly hard workers. I never ever ever hear them say a bad word about each other or about who they work for. A huge thank you Kombu and to all you beautiful beautiful women and let's not forget the men but it's mostly the women I see, so thank you from the bottom of my heart for Being such a wonderful shop in our local town. Yes I could rave on and on and on but I just wanted to make sure that you all understand how truly appreciated you are and for the joy all of you bring to our Shopping experience. Can't tell you how much joy it brought me to visit this business - clearly at the heart of this beautiful small town. As a visitor from Sydney, I'm not used to feeling genuine and authentic kindness and support. Wellness is a state of being and these people are just wonderful to be around. Feeling healthier and happier for having visited and looking forward to coming back soon. Thank you to the kombu team :)
So lucky to have this store in our town, with beautiful fresh local organic produce, a ridiculously impressive range of bulk food, great organic grocery options and the loveliest, most engaging staff in town. Nowhere else like it in the whole of Australia and probably the world.
As a local I'm tired of going into Kombu and never being greeted or welcomed. Every time I go in there and spend a good amount of money, the female staff are always extremely rude, blunt and unfriendly. I'd like to say that it's an isolated incident but it happens every time I go in there. At this point I won't shop there again. I'd rather drive into Coffs Harbour as I'm tired of this consistent negative experience.
Great place to come, awesome food, also check out their live webcam to let you know if the bridge is ever flooded, super handy.
i would like to speak to the negative review which was written by a customer on the weekend. I have worked at kombu wholefoods for almost ten years. I have been in the service industry for thirty. As a store we pride ourselves on our customer service. It is our core value and all our staff work hard daily to achieve this. In the ten years of working at kombu i have never seen the behaviour expressed by this customer. Sure we are only human and have our bad days. There may be times when we are multi tasking and cannot give 100% in that moment and on a really bad day we may not be able to leave our personal lives at home and not be as shiny and amazing as we would like to be but i have never seen it impact customers in the way that this customer implies he is treated everytime he shops at the store. i would like to welcome this customer to provide constructive criticism in person as we are only human and trying to show up every day and do our best. We get amazing support from our community and are constantly being told that we give outstanding customer service and go out of our way to make our customers feel important and valued in store, which we will continue to do. We will use this review to remind us to be the best we can be and to also reflect on being mindful of our bad days.
Good products, excellent on tap Kombucha, very unwelcoming and conceded staff. This is coming from a tourist. Great products aside, staff is a reflection of the business. I’m hoping the cashier was just having a bad day.
