Took primary aged child here from word of mouth recommendation and was not disappointed Arrive with time to find parking if you are visiting during a busy period

I have been to a number of different psychologists over the years and, while this certainly was not the worst, it didn’t helped me either. Consider all the money I spent here and the fact I didn’t feel any better or equipped to deal with life after coming here, I am giving it a below average rating. The psychologists here are nice and do try to help but the advice is too basic and common sense. It might be good in theory to think a different way but there were no tools to actually transform this into a reality. There were times when my views were not taken seriously. When the psychologist realised I didn’t respond to basic/text book style positive thinking strategies, she was so quick to try and refer me somewhere else and put me in the too hard basket.

This is one of the best practices in Sydney headed by Clinical Psychologist, Nicki Kemp whom I’ve known for over 16 years as a colleague. We are always happy to refer children, teens and adults needing services at Northwest as we know that they’ll be met with great care and support that comes not only from evidence-based practice incorporating therapeutic tools and strategies to assist clients, but the most important part of all, a strong alliance of trust and understanding with clients. So many specialised services here on offer across the lifespan that are among the best we know of.

My GP asked me to contact this practice so I called and left a message to call me back. After about an hour I received the call from a woman that I would describe as to be most unfriendly, actually rude. She told me there are no spots until next year and the selected Psychologist would not be the right one. I still asked to let me know earliest possible appointment and to call me back next business day. Needless to say that I'm still waiting for a return call weeks later. Normally I would not really care but if one is not well and then receives treatment by a so called professional in the field of mentally unstable I feel the urge to warn others who think of seeking treatment there.
