Strongly disappointed by our experience at this restaurant as what they told us when we initially walked in was different to what they told us at the counter. We saw on Service NSW that this restaurant was included in the 25 dining voucher initiative. We entered and double confirmed with the workers showing the voucher and asked whether we were at the correct place and if they accepted the voucher. The staff said yes and confirmed with us. Because the staff member confirmed that they were part of the initiative, we ordered with the assumption that we would get 25 off. When we arrived at the counter, they told us the voucher is not eligible at the restaurant. They have not started yet and do not know how to do it unless the manager is there. Since they initially said yes to us, we requested that they call the manager so we could have use the voucher as promised. They rang the manager and there was nothing he could do. They came to us after and told us that we have to pay full price. And that the voucher will be valid if we come again in the near future, but not right now since the manager isn't there. If it weren't for myself explaining that we ordered with the assumption that we would have 25 off, they wouldn't have given us 10% off (8).
The BBQ set we ordered was nice, but was a bit pricy. And it was weird as we could not ask for more lettuce. The service was quick, and we were lucky to get in early as they got really busy from 6:30pm. Overall the place is okay.
This Korean BBQ Restaurant is quite new - it officially opened at around October 2020. The quality if the meat here is impeccable and the service is incredibly good. For the amount of meat you can eat for the price, this place is affordable compared to the other popular restaurant choices in the Strathfield area. They provide plenty of options for side dishes and the overall dining experience is really good. Highly recommended to check out this place if you are craving Korean BBQ - one of the many bests.
Our family had dinner here tonight and found the food very reasonably priced, the beef very nice, the premise quite clean but let down by some of the service. The one female wait staff was incredibly lazy and just not interested. She brought out my wife's hot soup and just plonked on the edge of the table. When we asked her to move to right place, she pretended not to hear and walked away. When we waved at her for the cheque, she saw the wave and then pretended to not see us. Our table was literally 2 metres away from the cash register which she positioned, facing us. The other staff was nice and we gave him a nice tip. I feel disappointed for the owner because there are tons of Korean restaurants around Strathfield.
Excellent service and friendly staff. The meat are fresh and of good quality. The food are tasty with generous servings. And the side dishes are great too. The place is clean and homey. Best of all, the menu is not too pricey. Probably, the best beef rib soup I tasted so far. Looking forward to dining in again soon at BBQ Biwon!
