My husband asked Nic to come out and give us a quote for a damaged electric shutter and to give us a quote to have 2 new shutters installed. He came on time and was polite. He gave us a quote as requested. He even suggested I contact my husband whilst he was there to see if my husband was happy to go ahead with the work. Nic was happy to have the broken shutter fix there and then. However, when I told him that we wanted to get another quote from another company first before deciding his demeanour changed and he became very abrupt. He told me that I didn't know how much this work cost (even going as far as to bring out his receipt book to "prove to you. I'm not lying!"), he warned me that if I chose to go with someone else they would use "cheap parts from China!". When I asked him if he could put the broken shutter back up as he had found it, he refused. He said it was too dangerous to roll the shutter back up and that he didn't want to be responsible if something happened. When I asked him how I was supposed to open my windows to let air and light into my lounge room he shrugged his shoulders and said "You have to find someone to fix it fast". I found out a short time after my meeting with Nic that he had called my husband to demand to know why we had decided not to go with him when he had given us "the best deal!". After my experience with Nic I can honestly say that even if Nic did give us the best quote, I would rather pay more than to be spoken to the way he spoke to me. Needless to say, we would not be recommending him to anyone.
