Barolin Point is a beautiful place to snorkel or dive. We went there to snorkel and the reef was very good. There are lots of different types of corals and the reef was teeming with fish. Unfortunately on the day we went the sea was rough which made snorkeling difficult, but the locals tell me that these conditions are very unusual. The water here is normally very calm. We were lucky enough to meet a dive instructor when we arrived. He recommended the North facing part of the point was the best place to snorkel. Around low tide is best, but any time is a good time to go. He was taking a group of divers out off the East facing part of the point. Make sure you take your sunscreen and some shoes. There is little shade and the rocks were covered with small pointy shells. There are a good number of car parks here and a toilet block. The walk from the car park to the dive site is two or three hundred metres.
