This is the more expensive version of the Virgin gym with pricing that's set at the executive level. As usual, the staff were very good but I felt incredibly restricted in where I could go. They don't have a lot of variety in their classes here (compared to Pitt Street) and to be fair, they don't have a lot of space either. There weren't many people there. In fact during the whole time that I was getting changed, there were only three people in the room. Unfortunately, the changing room is so small that I had to move three times for the other people. Also on changing rooms, it's great to have a choice of shower heads (really) and conditioner and usb chargers in your lockers but there were no toilets. Only one in the foyer that people seemed to be lining up for. The boxing class I did was good and it's correctly called a "focus class" because there's very little interaction between people and no talking at all. If you're an executive who can afford the gym and you don't like people, this is the place for you. Personally I found it a little too restrained and clinical. After your workout, you get a complimentary towel and a choice of oddly shaped and oddly packaged smoothies. The avocado one is pictured. It tasted much better than it looked.

Yes, this gym has no weights area that can be used outside PT sessions. Yes it is small. But the classes and facilities are top notch. The boxing class is the best you'll do at a gym (individual bags so you are working the whole class) and Burn is the ultimate strength and conditioning class, it always pushes you in both cardio and weights and never gets boring. I can't personally sacrifice doing either of those classes for a cycle class but I'm told they are also amazing. The coaches are full of personality, passionate, encouraging and professional at all times. As a result every person attending these classes gives their all. This is where the magic lies. I have never been to a class where the standard is so consistently high. It's inspiring and you find yourself pushing harder than you thought possible just because of the people around you. There are other gyms with more showers and range of classes but they just don't have the magic of this gym. I have been coming for a few months and find myself missing it on the days I can't go. If you find yourself wanting something else you can always go to another Virgin Active for the pool, weights or other classes. But don't be surprised if you find yourself addicted to this gym instead!

I'll put it out there that I've been a member for a year. Originally a Virgin Active Pitt St member. And still train there most of the time. It is unlike any typical gyms with free weights and cardio area. There are three class-only studio plus a personal training studio. You book in advance as places for each classes are capped. It's good if you want a class environment to train that is not intimidating or busy. Not great if you want option to do free weights or other facilities before/after class.

Arrived a single minute late because I wasn’t clear on the location and was not allowed to join the class. I understand needing to make sure everyone is properly warmed up etc and it seems like a sound policy for those who are 10 or even 5 minutes late but be aware of the not-a-second-late policy if you’re someone who can’t guarantee leaving work exactly on time.

Their staffs are friendly and nice!! Feel super welcome for the first time being there. Their classes are really good too! Would def commit longer if I didn’t have to go to Adelaide for a period of time. It would be great if they have 1 month commitment membership like Barry’s bootcamp.

Second day in and loving it! Awesome concept and they really have thought of everything - Dyson hairdryers, complimentary juice after your workout, online class booking, towels, small class sizes and classes that are fun and motivating. Try it out once and you won’t want to go back to your regular gym.
