We did a have a go Saturday shoot. It was fantastic. The range officers made us feel welcome as soon as we walked in the door. They explained everything well. Gave us great tips on how to shoot. Great price and range of guns to shoot. Definitely recommend doing this. We will definitely go here again.

This was hands down one of my favourite outings around the Gold Coast. The team here went above and beyond to make it an experience worth repeating, I just had to leave a glowingly positive review to support such enthusiastic, honest, and fun people. From when we walked in, we were greeted with passionate faces who love what they do, and their aim (pun intended of course) was for us to enjoy the range as much as they do. I was impressed with their available choice of firearms, their safe and certified range officers, the exhilaration of non-tethered equipment and their amazing price (seriously avoid the tourist traps around Surfers’ Paradise, which charge expensive prices for an inadequate experience [tethered equipment, lifeless attendants, limited bullets/choice of firearms] You and your party deserve better. Come here instead!)

A very friendly and helpful staff and members. Whether you have shot a handgun before or not if you take part you will have a great day. The ranges are up to date and they're more than welcoming to new shooters. I recommend that you go here if it's a rainy day or if you have time to spare, you won't regret it. Parking can be a bit of an issue.

Extremely friendly, well mannered staff (volunteers) willing to help you and teach you everything you need to know about firearms and a great way to be introduced to the sport! For any first timers thinking of testing their skill at the shooting range, DO IT! Brought my mother with me for our first time shooting and we couldn’t speak highly enough of our experience. The team were very welcoming, very patient and very helpful through the whole process and I’m thankful for their guidance of two nervous beginners. I’d encourage anyone thinking of trying out the shooting range to come here and give it a go. Thanks again to the crew at S. S. A. A. Southport

A fantastic place to go shooting. Staff were amazing and friendly and treated us well. Our group of four was mainly from Sydney with one person living in the Gold Coast. A special thank you to Esther, staff and the range officers who allowed us to come in after hours to shoot. Thank you for your time and hospitality. We had limited time in Queensland and Esther was able to go above and beyond to arrange a time for us to come in after closing. We had a fantastic time, shooting 22.lr rifles. It was 60 for a lot of rounds, 50 I think. No gun license is needed to go shooting, none of us were licensed. The range officers were helpful and patient, providing instructions on how to shoot, tips and feedback. They also provide over ear hearing protection rather than in-ear ear plugs which is a huge plus. We’ve been to the SSAA branch in St Marys, NSW - this branch was smaller but had a more inviting/community feeling to it - it was very comfortable being there and shooting at SSAA Southport. I would go here over again over other pistol clubs in the Gold Coast. If I lived in the Gold Coast, I would sign up as a member.

Friendly staff and very well arranged so you can feel at ease in respect of personal safety. Instructors are all experienced and take time to explain all the safety protocols carefully so you can enjoy the experience.
