/My home was built by Hightide Constructions about four years ago. I am happy with my home and particularly loved my full length deck at the back. I was living at Lavender Village, in Waurn Ponds. This Village has closed down now. Hightide relocated everything, including garages for a quote of 8,000.00. The crew were very efficient and friendly. They poured the footings at my new address which is five klms away. The cabins and garages were relocated. This is a very precise action, with great risk involved. It all went well. Mick, the Director, suggested my big deck be stored at Winchelsea, head office due to wet weather. My gut feeling said no, but he was the expert, I thought. Nearing completion of the job, Mick called in to inform me he would need 11,000 as the footings had to be deep etc. So, I paid 11,000. A few days later I received a phone call telling me my old site was being ransacked, you had better come here. I phoned the Police. When I arrived there, my retaining wall was in the process of being removed. The replacement value is 4,000. The people doing the work told the Police they were just helping Mick. Helping himself to my wall. There were 1,000 worth of pavers. After my ranting, they were left there, not so for everyone. Then I received an invoice for 16,000. Hightide wanted another 5,000. I refused to pay that. Then I was threatened by Mick that he would remove my house, which he has no claim on. So, he still to this day has my 13metre x 2.5 metre deck worth, 5,000. I suggested we sort all this out in court. I haven't heard from Hightide since.I will be reporting all of this to The Master Builders Assocciation. See what they think of all this.
