When I need to shoot a corporate video, I call Mick or Ian at ProCam and they tell me exactly what equipment I need, and don't need, for the job. They advise based on my client's budget and the end use of the video - and never try to talk me into more than I need. They seriously know their stuff and have been in the game a long time. I have done the Masterclasses they offer and it has helped me so much. Cannot recommend these guys enough.
I've been hiring from Pro-cam for a couple of years and the negative responses posted are so out of character that I feel it's important to let everyone know that Pro-cam is customer oriented, helpful and responsive. It's a highly technical hire company, if you don't know what you need and expect the hire company to solve your technical problems then I suppose you'll have issues with ALL hire companies. In response to the review where someone didnt haven a C13 (kettle plug) I can't believe you don't have a spare and you are in the media industry. I have a chest full of them, where have you been for the last 20 years? Michael is most helpful, in my book he's one of the busiest good bloke in the industry and he's always been polite, approachable and professional. To conclude the whole crew have been there for me whenever I've needed them.
I hired from these guys a year ago and cant recommend them enough. They were awesome with advice, knowledge, service and price, especially the old dude with white hair, really nice to go to when I didnt know what I wanted or what I was doing.
Actually didn't source the PanaVision kit in 32 roadcases from Pro-Cam on that last really huge feature project, but since then just about anything we ever wanted to work with; from the very first of the legendary CineAlta F900's ever in the country, the 8mm for the Red on a jib, the almighty 3D GoPro & the very latest 9k Monster-Cam. We've snapped pool-pix on the 'Blad, ignored the crocodile teeth-marks on the Zoom barrel and hoped for the best with torches in the darkest skull-cave in New Guinea for ECU after the Sun-flows faltered when the WS where done. The other day we cranked up the D5 deck while the 1-inch was twirling in the background & beheld the new Black-magic & reminisced on the Bolex. Apart from all the tools & toys you ever heard of (talk to people at ProCam) you also need a vision & nous (talk to people at ProCam) & stay on your feet to get your shots no matter what. Hard to know what to say about all those with no time, no budget & no idea. Get a Life - Make a Movie !?!
