From the moment I called I was treated with such compassion & care for myself and the poor injured animal we stumbled upon during our walk today. Leonie & her assistant were wonderful in such a tragic situation. We will be forever grateful and know in these most sad of situations that the animals are treated with such care and compassion. Thank you.

These guy's are amazing. Had someone around to rescue a trapped bird within the hour. Thanks guys
Poor attitude in staff (lazy, volatile and passive-aggressive). I know these people are volunteers but again, I don't think you need to get paid to act like decent human beings. (I can see some passive aggressiveness in their replies to bad reviews as well). We found an injured animal and called Vic Wildlife, they said they would send someone ASAP. 4 hours later, no one came, so we called back to a different operator, turned out no case was logged and when the animal finally got to the vet, they sent a passive aggressive message to guilt and shame us for not able to take the animal to a vet sooner. Everyone (operators and the person who took the animal) was so rude and unfriendly.
Possum stuck on top of clothes line in dangerous position .rang for assistance got told to talk to neighbours to get permission to save Possum .which I did and was also advised they also got no response. I rescued the Possum myself and relocated the Possum back to a tree in the nearby reserve. Local vet not available till Monday Grampians rescue not helpful and uncaring. Stawell vet available on Monday 9am If not for my effort the Possum may have died a sad death in the heat .on metal clothesline . And frankly no one give a dam . As it is the weekend .was the response I love animals and by the way . Animal rescue affiliates As amazing as animals are . They don't read the time Just sun up to sun down . Poor effort by the people I called to discuss my concern for the poor Possum .
At 1pm today, I called today about a baby swan that had swallowed a fishing hook and had line still out of its mouth. We tried to catch the swan ourselves, and at the very least cut the line shorter so it wouldn't get tangled, but we couldn't do much as it was in the water and the parents were very protective. After waiting a bit, we called back to inform them we were leaving but to call if they needed anything. It's now 9pm, and I just received a text that said no one was able to go out, and if I could go back to see if the swan was still in distress, and if it was to call back tomorrow. What a joke of a 'rescue', especially one that labels themselves as emergency. That poor swan, god knows if it's okay now, has been suffering for at least 8 hours, and they're not even going to look into sending someone out to check tomorrow if it's okay. Not sure what I'm going to do in future situations, but I definitely won't be calling Wildlife Victoria
I'm unconvinced that wildlife Victoria actually want to help. I have had some positive experiences calling them and having help for animals but it just seems they always go for the easy option of calling the police to use kangaroos as target practice. I'm not sure if you have ever seen a police officer euthanize a kangaroo but their aim is quit often terrible. I called in a kangaroo this morning and was told straight away to call the police. I instead called Doreen wildlife help to attend because I know they will euthanize the kangaroo humanely.
This morning on Alexandra Avenue, what looked like a pregnant possum was being attacked by several cockatoos. It was pretty distressing and there didn’t seem to be a way out for the poor thing. I immediately called Wildlife Rescue and Ranger John was amazing and arrived within 10 minutes of me reporting this. So thank you for making my morning as we all need a bit of positivity during COVID19.
You'd be better off taking any injured wildlife to a vet. These people are hopeless and uninterested in helping.
