They delete points of reference from their auctions the day after sales. I spent 270 on something inoperable. I highly recommend inspecting lots in person. I can appreciate that the last year was difficult, but I expect more defects and damage to be highlighted (either photographically or explicitly mentioned). They need to be more thorough and not take on more than they can 'chew'. That is half the problem? Transparency is a dying attribute. It can be an expensive trial and error venture bidding online for auction lots on 'face value'. I came a little unstuck being stuck with goods I would not have the conscience to on-sell myself. They are worth the look, but do enquire by phone, or peruse goods in person. It will save you any potential disappointment.

Where to start? Won 2 items. 1 was a paperweight. 1 was a large extendable table & chairs. Paid for both in a timely manner. It says on their website they ship interstate. Well last time i checked Tasmania is interstate. After ringing three times i get told. NO. Sorry. Arrange your own transport. Did that. Oh & somehow my paper weight wasn't posted. Wasnt given to the truck driver so i am out of pocket 30. Even when i paid for my items asap. Now i have lost my password to bid on their auctions. Used their own system for live chat @ 4:15 p.m. says leave a message even tho closing says 5.pm. They have my phone number email & address. Not a word from anyone. A very annoyed customer here. But i do enjoy their site. Just wish it wasn"t like pulling teeth ( FKN PAINFUL) to get some answers. Follow up to my review. Received an unexpected but welcome phone call. Does not matter who it was but i have never experienced anyone take the time to talk with me about my issues. After a quick chat we had reached an agreement & was actually LISTENED to. Cannot thank the gentlemen enough for going out of his way to reach out. Very professional. Thank you Abbeys.
sold my car professional team great price no problems would recommend
Great service, easy to buy from, items purchased matched description. Good way to save the planet and re-use unwanted items.
Watch out for these characters. I was fortunate to be at an auction and saw my item being sold for a certain amount of money. When I went to collect my cash a week later it was half the price. Apparently a 'keystroke error' had been made. Dodgy.
Abbeys is very well run. Get there early before the bidding starts to view the items. You can view the auction items online as well. Some great items, some not so much, but that’s the luck of the draw. Bidding is a fun pastime if you’re free Friday mornings, or Saturday. I’ve picked up a few pieces here, with no regrets.
Helena went above and beyond in her service and operates well with codewords too!
Bought from Abbeys Auctions and will suggest you think twice before you do. The items did not match the description and nor were the transparent with the extent of the damage. I made the effort to call prior to the auction for a detailed condition report and was further mislead by the description and condition if the items. The items were delivered and to my dismay the items are in far worse condition than I was lead to believe. I have tried to resolve this matter but they take no responsibility for their dishonesty and lack of transparency. Do not think you can trust them on their word, it's better not to buy from them unless you can inspect the items yourself. Best to maybe purchase from someone else who is more honest in their condition reports and verbal reports. I am greatly disappointed in their actions.
