We have stayed at this hotel a number of times but this time we found it to be well below our expectations. For location it is great, but then everything went downhill from there. On arrival we had received some codes to get in the front door and retrieve our key. We got in the front door OK and retrieved our key. We went up to our floor and found our room. However we couldn’t get either of the cards to open the door even thought the green light came on. After half an hour of pushing and pulling we were not sure what to do. I was about to try and find a number to ring for help when my husband suddenly managed to open the door. This is not the first time we have had issues with key cards. On at least two previous occasions we were given three different sets of cards and even then we had to go back down and ask for assistance. After finally getting into our room we were horrified to see the state of it (room 703). The carpet was an absolute disgrace with big stain marks everywhere. The lounge chair was very worn and very uncomfortable. There was very little support on the seat as the springs were worn out. The bed was ok but was also well past it’s use by date and a bit saggy. The bathroom had mould and grime in some of the tiles and some of the taps were almost impossible to turn off particularly the basin. We won’t be back unless the hotel lifts it game and improves the standard rooms. They might be standard but we are still paying guests and expect the room to be clean and well maintained.

Absolutely terrible experience. Personal items valuing close to 300 were stolen from a family member whose recollection was that they stored it in the luggage storage area. Concierge claimed to have CCTV of the individual placing their item down in a semi-public area and being picked up by another guest. They had no inclination to identify the guest or request the item be returned. Refused to provide CCTV footage without police report. Police report was made and hotel informed that police had requested they save the footage. When police investigated, hotel claimed that CCTV footage did not exist/had been overwritten despite them being clearly told that it was evidence in a police investigation and that they needed to preserve the footage. I strongly suspect that the items may have been stolen by an employee, which would explain their inaction on day 1 and the fact that they had overwritten the footage that they had been told to preserve....

I was supposed to stay at this hotel for two nights.. I paid for the hotel upon arrival and also paid 20 per night for parking and 50 security bond..Which is totally acceptable..I arrived on Thursday to s stay Thursday and Friday night...At one o'clock Friday afternoon I received a phone call informing me that my uncle was killed in a car accident..Upon hearing this I had to leave the hotel immediately...I tried to find someone on the concierge desk to explain what had happened and let them know I was leaving..Couldnt find anyone as it was a public holiday so I called the number displayed on the counter of the foyer..After explaining the situation I was assured that due to the nature of my early departure the money I paid for the Friday night would be refunded...This was two weeks ago tomorrow..I rang the hotel this morning and spoke to Peter wondering why the money had not yet been refunded and his reply was absolutely disgraceful...Apparently because I had already paid for a parking spot that I clearly didn't use because I wasn't there I was at the hospital waiting to hear about my uncle I wasn't entitled to a refund...And then he proceeded to tell me that I wouldn't be getting a refund for the night I couldn't stay...The thing that really upset me is that I was assured that the reason I had to leave was totally understandable and a refund was applicable...I am disgusted

Love this place and stay here regularly when I'm in town. There are all kinds of rooms (depends on how much you wanrt to spend) and something to suit everyone. Super handy to train station, city shops and South Bank. Staff and friendly and helpful.

Room was clean but that's about it. Pool was disgusting, full of cigarette rubbish. The pin number given to us for a late check in and safe pin didn't work. Number displayed at door to call assistance for after hours doesn't work . We didn't use carpark and didn't get a refund for it.
