Dodgy HR practices when 3 separate emails asking genuine queries ahead of applying for a role thatI am more than qualified for, go unanswered. No SPAM whatsoever. They went through. An organisation championing women? Not this woman in this case.. So incredibly disappointed how funds are not put to ethical and proper use. Something smells rotten to me. Thanks you for your recent response. I shall forward the three emails for your investigation into this matter.

Incredible place to work. The women here are progressive and inclusive and kind. The childcare sector is amazingly talented and skilled in supporting developing minds and the overall attitude and environment is welcoming and warm. I've worked across the sector in the ACT and YWCA Canberra are the best of the best, putting so much effort and care into supporting woman and families in the community.

Rude staff. Workers who couldn't be bothered doing what they're paid for. The well known culture of bullying within the workplace extends to the way the general public are treated when they call with concerns about their clients. While they rent properties only to women and their children, it's common to find the male (apparently violent etc) living in the home soon after it's been secured. It appears to be a well known scam to gain cheap accommodation. Without checks and balances, women who really need these properties can't get into them, because they're occupied by women who lied about DV to get cheap accommodation. It highlights the piteous situation with low cost housing - that people have to go to these lengths to have a roof over their heads. But, all the tenants that have been placed in the home next door have been problematic to the community. The blame is squarely placed with YWCA for not having a better system of checks and balances and proper action when tenants have broken their leases...

I have worked for this organisation for over 5 years. Children and Educators are AMAZING! Management are unsupportive, don't follow procedures or policies, and will use bullying tactics and threats! Work somewhere else!

YWCA Canberra is an organisation that prides itsself on the values of equity, fairness, diversity, and equal opportunity. WHAT A JOKE!!! Management actively promotes and encourages a culture of systemic bullying and exclusion!
