The doctors I saw were quite good, but if (like most people) you have a job, don't expect to be able to get in at a convenient time and for your appointment to actually go ahead at that time. I made my first appointment during a week off and I had to wait ages even though there was only one other patient waiting. My referral was to Dr Spelman but it was her first day back from sick leave, so another doctor was helping out. That was understandable. When I tried to make a second appointment for 6-8 weeks' time, I found that even though the opening hours are advertised as 8am-5pm, they won't make any appointments after 4pm and they close at 3pm on Fridays. They agreed to make a special appointment for me at 4:40pm on a Friday and I got a confirmation text the day before, but around 10am on the day someone left a voicemail asking if I could come in at 3pm. They said they were from Veracity and I didn't even know what that was until I called the number at 12:30 and got Gabba Dermatology. (Veracity does clinical trials so was I supposed to be in a clinical trial?) I pressed the number for Veracity but no one answered so I left a message saying it was impossible for me to leave work early at short notice and asked them to call me back, but they didn't. I called again just after 3pm and got a recorded message, saying they were closed. I assumed my appointment had been cancelled, then I was on the train home when I got a call asking where I was. I tried to reschedule the appointment but I'd have to take a day off for it, so I've decided to go back to my GP and get a referral to another dermatologist. Now I feel like I'm back at square one. It's not the doctors - it's the opening hours and the organisation of the practice and its various divisions that's confusing.

I have been seeing Dr Robert Sinclair since I was 13. He is a very good doctor. However, on a side note, the administration staff at his practice are terrible. I have had two appointments booked with Dr Sinclair and the first appointment I had to drive an 1hr each way to get there. They advised that they had called me and left voicemail messages. I told them that I had absolutely no missed calls or messages. The admin girl never thought to check the phone number written down. I thought I would let this one slide. Then today I had an appointment, double checked everything, rocked up at 6:50am and the admin girl stated that I had several calls and voicemails saying it was cancelled. I told her this was the second time that her team has stated they have called me when they haven’t- she checked the number and it was a complete randoms number. I have had the same number for 5 years! All she did was tell me i can book another time. This was after the 1hr commute there and then a longer commute back in peak hour traffic. Disgraceful. It would be super easy to check client emails and mobile numbers when they book appointments, instead of assuming the client just doesn’t answer there phone. What a waste of 4hrs for an urgent medical appointment. Then they have the decency to tell me to go to another practice. Disgraceful. Would recommend getting new admin staff at this practice due to their unprofessionalism.

Doctors seem knowledgeable but everytime they give us an appointment we have to wait a long time to be seen. I don't understand why they take so long, there are not even many patients.
