Magnificent historic old hydro plant. Well worth a look. Great educational centre inside the old building. Steep stairs and a great bouncy suspension bridge to get there, but worth it.

One of a number of ways to get to the old Duck Reach Powerstation (10min walk). Definitely the shortest route and every step down to the station is picturesque. Sometimes a bit wet and muddy so decent shoes with good grip will help you keep sure footed. The steps are quite steep, unevenly spaced and range in size, watch your feet. The majority of the walk has safety handrails and there are a few places along the way to rest for a moment and not be in anyone's way. Also leads to other walks such as to the Cataract Gorge. The carpark itself offers a fantastic view of the remains of the powerstation and on the opposite side to the carpark are a couple of beautiful stonewalled homes, also worth looking at from a distance (they are privately owned and occupied homes).

Worth the walk from the basin. Beutiful views of the river and rocky gorge and wobbly bouncy cable bridge over the river to the old power station. Many small waterfalls to see. Some short steep sections but easily walkable by the able bodied. Can be a fun day out solo hiking or swimming and picnicing in the basin with the whole family.

Stunning views just from the car park, along with some informational signage. Quite a walk down (and back up!) but well worth the effort if your ankles and knees are up to it.

My favourite place. This is an awesome short walk.... 1hr and a half if you include the zig-zag track round trip... plenty of stairs to burn off those cheesecakes. Bit rocky in places... just beautiful!!! Don't go early in the morning in winter. Your nose will fall off.
