Ordered 42 takeaway serves from the lunch special menu for an office function, and I have to say we were impressed. They gave us a fair price for the bulk order. Everything was hot, fresh cooked and the fried food was still crispy when we ate it. There were some good tasty vegan options as well. The lunch specials are simple dishes, but simple food done well is often the most enjoyable. Hats off to the Chef for handling the bulk takeaway order during a Friday lunch hour rush as well. 5 stars.

Went to lunch with a friend, always like to try somewhere different and this lovely cafe/restaurant did not disappoint. Lovely Japanese food prepared to perfection and delivered to your table ready for you to enjoy. It was great to catch up with an old friend, have a lovely meal in such relaxed surrounds.
I was a regular when I stayed in West End. I can say the portion is generous and the lunch menu is great. Although the foods are still tasty though, there are still better ones out there. Nevertheless, I would recommend this place to anyone who’s looking for Japanese lunch in West End.

Absolutely appalling experience. Accidentally ordered one beer instead of two for my partner and I, and was told that I wasn't allowed to buy another because we only bought one meal and a few sides to share. As someone who works in hospitality, this is disgusting. It is not specified on the drinks menu or the food menu which meals are classed as sides or meals, nor is it specified that you have to order a meal to order a drink. Will not be coming back.
Went for dinner and ordered the Wagu-Bento box. It was fantastic. Very well balanced, plenty to choose from and very generous serving size. There's so much else on the menu, I'll definitely be back. Surprised that this place isn't more busy; couldn't recommend more.
My first visit here at Izakaya Goku and I'm already impressed with the level of service. Special lunch deals and an assortment of sushi and Japanese dishes are what this Japanese restaurant has to offer. Prices are reasonable and seating is comfortable. Drinks list here is amazing as well with a wide variety of selection. There are some things however that needs to be improved. The tempura batter is hard, greasy and inconsistent, broccoli is not recommended for tempura as it can burn or char easily.
