Food was tasty. Friendly staff. I think it was bingo night?? Not a bad road stop off. Edit: Came back again another time - was not bingo night - lol. Warning: They don’t really do desert. They have cakes ‘n things.
You have One job..... If you're looking for a cheap drink, average food and don't want table service or informed staff that know their product ... book yourself in here. If the checkout chick taking my order had told me the "Chef" thinks Medium-Rare means Medium-Well I would have ordered my Steak Rare... but that would mean being educated, informed and engaged with her job. If the waiter that asked "how's the meal?" just because that's what he has been told to say, was really interested in my dining experience he wouldn't have asked "do you want it cooked a bit more?" when I showed him the over done lump of meat devoid of any pinkness. If I knew what all the different wines tasted like on their (very limited) wine list... I wouldn't need to ask the Bar Staff for a description or (God forbid) an educated recommendation ..so I guess that makes me qualified to serve behind the Bar at the Wagga Commercial Club, because they have no clue either. But hey, they have Pokies and Keno and a combined raffle, so I guess food and drink is not the only way to waste your money at the Wagga Commercial Club.
Very disappointed in the new chairs. Not only uncomfortable but unsuitable for my old friends and I. We are in our 60 s , the chairs are too low and we cannot get out of them. We only come to the club because it used to have suitable seating. We stopped going to RSL when they refurbished. Looks like Aussie Rules Club will be our next meeting place. Sorry.
I have extremely severe allergies, and the chef, Shaun phoned me after I had advised Shell, during our confirmation of final details for a function. Shaun was calm and professional and worked out a menu that I could eat and still feel part of the group. Shell handled the arrangements for the function easily and professionally. On the the night Angus arranged and dealt with the final details calmly and pleasantly. Overall, a very impressive ability to organise and run our function. And supply a tasty meal. Many thanks for that
