We recently recorded a school group at Soggy Dog and Steve was an absolute joy to work with. His attention to detail and pride in his work is second to none and the end product was simply amazing. He was able to work with all the students at varying levels and adapt to all our needs and changes of plan without skipping a beat. He was a huge source of information for the kids on the process, recording and of course the technical side of things. The space and gear is incredible and it all made for a very rewarding and enriching day for all involved. Thank you!

Having worked with many professionals worldwide, I am still to meet someone as brilliant as Steve Vertigan from Soggy Dog Recording. This man is a genius! He’s quick, professional, thorough, knowledgeable, versatile, humble, entertaining, reassuring and so beneficial to work with. Whatever I suggested as a singer, no matter how challenging, Steve would immediately say ‘let’s try it’. I’ve recorded 2 albums at Soggy Dog Recording and several other songs for forthcoming albums. These releases so far have topped the charts both in Australia and worldwide and won several awards and accolades. This is a testament to Steve because one of the most consistent comments I get is in commendation of the quality of the recording. The ambience in the studio is second to none. I’ve often watched in awe as Steve works his magic. Between recording and mixing, I enjoy chatting to him and basking in the wealth of his experience with the relaxing sound of kookaburras in the background. In addition to being an exemplary sound engineer, Steve is a performer in his own right, having shared the stage with a host of celebrities and worked on Australia’s top television shows. This guy knows his stuff, yet he’s modest and unassuming. No matter what genre of music you belong to, in whatever stage of your career, if you’re looking for the best then look no further than Soggy Dog Recording and Steve Vertigan.

Steve is a professional, with a huge history of experience, but he is also a very nice bloke to work with. He has helped me create my debut EP "Forest Dreams" and was very patient throughout the whole process. Thanks Steve!

I have been working with Steve at Soggy dog for the last 3 years and 3 albums now. His musicality and engineering proficiency are second to none. Friendly, knowledgeable and well connected with other professional musos. I highly recommend this studio for any professional album project. I am looking forward to continuing my fourth album project with him very soon!

Great to work with Steve at Soggy Dog. He is a knowledgeable musician who understands what is needed to work with concert band, string orchestras and jazz ensembles. His experience and reliability is invaluable to us producing demo recordings for our catalogue. Thanks Steve.

I was so happy to return to Soggy Dog Recording Studio recently and work with Steve. I have worked with Steve on a few different projects over the years and trust him beyond his work as an engineer. As he is an experienced musician himself I am always excited to see how he collaborates towards each song. Being very resourceful with his network of artists and his extensive experience over the years, I not only enjoy recording with Steve but love to sit and watch, learning from his craft. I highly recommend working with Steve at Soggy Dog Recording Studio for whatever genre or stage you might be in your career.

Had an amazing first session with Steve and it couldn't have run smoother. He is excellent to work with, patient and efficient with time. Very accommodating to your direction and goals musically speaking, and working with what's achievable within your skill set/experience.. I'm a muso that hasn't been in the studio to record for years, and he was able to make me feel comfortable and confident. I must also add Steve has vast experience in musical performance, TV ( acting ) and entertainment industries. He understands Artistic direction, genres, musical terms and different instruments, themes etc. I even got a mix down of the song with in a 3 hour session - we recorded vox and keys ( on real grand piano that resides in studio ). Also had a film crew briefly pop in which was accommodated to at the last minute. I would love to pop in for another session once my next song is ready. I'm writing from a soloist's perspective ( VOX and KEYS ) . Will also add Steve has a load of different vocal mics, and I really think has a talent for bringing out the best in your voice. Listen to the recordings on the Soggy Dog Web page! There were a few tools provided in the session to assist with the timing and rhythm of my keys. It all turned out really excellent without excessive editing. From past experience, doing take after take can drain the delivery of the performance, this was not the case for this session. The approach was very practical and natural. I hope this is any help!
