Friendly and helpful staff. Love the Pretty Parrot Gin which is made by this pub. Recommend it highly. Try the tasting platter of gins and purchase your favourite. My personal choice is the rhubarb and pomegranate gin

Food quality 2/10 Presentation 5/20 Customer service 0/10 Fish and chip dish had 5 chips in the adult serve. 13:56 Sunday Labour day weekend. Four of our Group of seven had ordered lunch and the staff told us at 14:04 the kitchen is shut and our friends couldn't order more food. Our friends went and got Mecca's and joined us. The staff told them they could not eat with us.
The Orient is a beautiful old pub in Tumut. I first visited here twelve months ago during the 2019/2020 bushfires. I called in for a feed and one beer. The proprietor kindly offered me the use of a shower, at no charge, and despite me not staying there (I was sleeping in a truck). So this week I revisited the region to check out the fire damage and recovery, so, naturally I called in for lunch and a beer. The food was hot and fresh and beautifully presented. The beer was cold and I love how this pub is supporting independent breweries with an outstanding range of beers on tap. Service from the ladies behind the bar and upon presentation of our lunch order was great and genuine. The bar area is well presented and amenities clean. Always worth a visit, I can't see myself ever visiting Tumut without calling in!
Love the laid back atmosphere. We missed out on the bistro, as we called in between lunch and dinner, but there were still pizzas for the kids. While the adults could enjoy a tasting platter of Pretty Parrot Gin & Liqueurs.
It’s our go-to place when we’re after a great feed and some country hospitality. Thanks once again for welcoming us - we will be back on the return trip!
This hotel does a great pub meal and.is a great place for a drink. I wouldn't recommend staying on a Saturday unless you're happy with a late one, but other days of the week are much quieter. Fan only, no air-conditioning.
