Very interesting walk back in time. In most other cities this unusable railway would have been demolished for flats....awesome to see some heritage larger than a plaque.

Rail travel is a great relaxing way to travel, looking out the windows at the ever changing scenery. The sights you see that you don't in a car. The dinning car offers a great menu to choose from. If you are lucky enough to be in the rail beds then this is luxury, the menu offers a wide range of meals all delivered to your seat. I could go on but the best way is to try rail travel.
I'm glad the old rail building is still here. I like to think maybe one day it may reopen if light rail comes to Townsville.
Maybe one day this will be a functional railway station once again? Makes sense , it delivers you right into the heart of the CBD. If you wanted to go hardcore turn it into a hotel so you could arrive by train then step straight into a hotel - it would be a unique hotel. Maybe you'd call it " The Station Hotel" ??
