Mediocre leather goods and arrogant and false claims by the owner. I went to this store hoping to find quality made leathercraft products, instead it was just basic factory made products that were not very impressive. For example, I saw the edges of the larger leather products, like bags, are not bevelled or properly burnished, only treated with edge dye. Some items have sketchy quality control, especially the wallets. The leather is adequate, but mostly standard chrome tanned or combination leather. None of the items are hand stitched, but rather have thin thread that have been machine stitched, which can easily unravel should the thread break. The owner was extremely arrogant, with little knowledge beyond basic factory made leather goods that you would learn as a merchandiser or being behind a sewing machine. He made several outrageous assertions that made my eyes widen (like vegetable tanned leather will crack when folded, the edge dye will last 40 years, machine stitching is superior (!) to cross stitching, or that edge dye is only available from Italy - All these claims are complete nonsense). All the while insisting his basic factory made products were the best. They are not. This sort of hard sell may work with the tourists, or people who know nothing about leathercraft, and his arrogance may browbeat some people into accepting his falsehoods, but all of that doesn't change the fact his products are average factory made leather goods at best. I would avoid such a dishonest person who passes off his middle-of-the-road products, and his misguided, half-baked claims, as a premium brand. He's ripping you off.
My husband bought me a handbag from Louis Cardini for my Mother's Day present 2 years ago. I really love this handbag but recently, I accidentally dropped my handbag onto a bottle of diffuser! That made a big patch of oil mark on my beautiful bag! I didn't know what to do & I called Louis for advise! He taught me to use talc immediately on the oil mark to absorb all the oil & it worked wonder! A month later, the oil mark is mostly gone!!! I went back to Louis shop yesterday to thank him & to show him how the bag looks like now. You can see that he is really passionate with his job & he just loves his creation! He rubbed & polished my bag & it is pretty much back to normal now! Thank you Louis!
I bought a red handbag from this shop just over a year ago. I'd been looking for a while and struggled to find a simple but beautiful and practical bag until I happened across Louis Cardini. This is the best handbag! The leather is gorgeous, the workmanship superb and its also very practical. Thank you, I'll happily buy my next bag here.
Found the incredible store in Sydney. The handbags for ladies really focus on details, using all great leather and materials. My wife loves the bag! Would be great if there are more bags for men, I would definitely buy one or more! Will visit again when we are back to Sydney.
My partner bought me a beautiful leather bag for my work from Louis Cardini. The quality and craftsmanship of his products are outstanding. Recently I accidentally knocked off the brass lock for the bag and sheepishly returned it to Louis for his advice of the damage. Without batting an eyelid he kindly offered to repair the bag lock himself at no extra charge. This is one store in Sydney I will never forget for their generous service.
