SUBTLE & REFINED A simple reading menu, a chef who pops out for a chat, divine wine and understated elegance is what Little Bistro is offering I’m a big fanI can imagine this food in a quaint British terrace, not trying, just being. My only question is, is Sydney ready? Destitute of bells and whistles this is real food. My Bourride seemed subtle until the addition of the seafood mayo & croutons, the beef cheek tho was hearty & rich. Sailor devoured the vegetable curryWe ate a big meal and felt clean at the end. The entrees and mains were excellent. We had oysters, minestrone soup, liver pate and mussels for entree all done very well. For mains the beef cheeks were so soft you didn't need a knife. The bourride of seafood was fantastic. The crown of duck however was so so. It was not bad but it was not wow. Dessert of apple tart was too sweet and needs more tart filling. Quince compote was fantastic though the vanilla ice cream was a waste. Not quite sure what it was doing there. Overall it was a great experience and highly recommended. Service was excellent and would def come back.
Very good restaurant, I would recommend this place. Alastair Little is a very friendly man.
