Had an amazing meal and driinks at Cubby's tonight. The host Anthony and the staff were very welcoming and attentive. Highly recommended.

Good friendly service with fast turn around. Some interesting fusion ideas? Was in a hidden underground bar which added to the appeal.

Not as good as before, pre Covid-19 it was great - Particularly the service from the co-owner Anthony . We have been here twice previous to this - both fantastic experiences. This time in a work group of 24, we had the banquet - highlights the starter (hummus etc) and dessert (baklava) - lowlights - the vegetarian mains were forgotten after everyone else had got through their mains we felt it necessary to remind the wait staff. There was no apology, only a dismissive from the waitress “well you can take away the food” which rather defeats the point of a sit-in meal. - The Lamb was dry, the falafel dense We would have overlooked the food disappointment and not chosen to write a review had the service been better. There was no apology for forgetting the vegetarian mains, they made the guests feel as it it was their fault for requesting the food. Sadly the service ruined the experience and we won’t be back.

Cute hidden restaurant, close to Circular Quay with a relaxed vibe. Food was good too, particularly the Labne and mixed skewers. There were 2 vegetarians in our group and they said there was enough options on the menu for them. The only downside for us , and why not 5 star for me, was that we were seated directly under a speaker and the music was a tad loud for our 6pm seating as we couldn’t hear each other speak. Would go back, but would request to be seated away from a speaker this time

the fattouch salad was very tasty, the grilled mixed place was perfectly grilled, the only thing is they should take it easy on the spices for the lamb kafta. it just overrides the taste of the meat.

FOOD: 2/5 - Baba gannoush: overly salty (had to eat it with a lot of bread) - Fried chicken: not super crunchy, lacked seasoning, but overall chicken was tender - Cauliflower: highlight of the meal (super soft and loved the dressing) - Lamb kafta: overcooked and slightly dry - Knafeh: overly sweet SERVICE: 3/5 - Was polite but not super friendly and welcoming compared to other middle eastern restaurants in the CBD VIBE: 2/5 - Music was superrrrrr loud, found it a hard to chat to the people around me without raising my voice Overall, definitely better options for middle eastern food around the CBD area at pricing equivalent to the quality of the food delivered.
