Received a referral for an appointment that was made in August this year. Originally I confirmed 'Yes' via SMS, but couldn't make the appointment so I called to confirm and would call back at a later date to rebook. Rebooked but was told due to the other 2 rheumatologists in Brisbane taking leave, my appointment wouldn't be for another few months, no problems. Arrived for my new appointment after clearing my afternoon schedule, only to be told that no such appointment existed after waiting 3 months. I was told specifically several times this was due to temps taking my booking and not putting it in to the system. This felt like a lazy excuse but not my business. Frustrating but these things happen. Re booked again for the end of January, another 3 months later. HOWEVER, I received a letter in the mail today in a very passive aggressive format chastising me for not calling ahead to cancel my original booking (which was cancelled around the same time as the temps who lost my booking), and informing me that my appointment will not be rebooked, and I will need a new referral from my GP. The excuse of temps seems to be afforded to the business, but not to the customer. This leaves you sitting here bewildered wondering what you could have done wrong. Unfortunately this is a business more interested in proving themselves right, than learning and understand what's happened from a client's point of view.

Very disappointed with my experience . Was told that I ‘ probably have rhuematiod arthritis ‘ but not yet treatable as not that ‘ advanced ‘ despite me complaining of chronic pain, several positive blood results and symptoms . Told to come back in six months . Was very cold in his manner and not really interested in suggesting anything else I could do . What was more bothersome is that I have other autoimmune issues he didn’t even bother to look at or take any interest in my medical history . Saw another specialist this week who has confirmed that I do in fact have rhuematiod arthritis and is happy to treat me / offer some relief . An expensive experience and complete waste of time going to this doctor .
