Long wait at the triage when we arrive in the emergencies. The nurses are not always very receptive and quick, especially the elderly nurse... she should no longer be in the emergency triage... she is much too slow. Apart from that, I was well surrounded by nurses and doctors at emergencies. The emergency nurse asked me so many questions and took the time to type everything on the computer. I truly appreciated. On the whole, they are efficient people who care about their profession. The second doctor at came back to explain to me in detail what I had and took the time to explain things to my translator. He was truly patient. I appreciated being so taken into consideration. Many doctors could not have been attentive and patient as much as him. They dared to do more research to find what I had thanks to a CT Scan. Honestly, this is the first time that a hospital finally knows what I know after long periods of suffering. On the other hand, in the case of a student it is very expensive. 2000 to pay out of pocket, but after all it's a detail ... Health above all. Also, the staff didn't push me out the next day, not like the Tweed Heads Hospital who kicked me out without looking for what I had.

Thank you to the amazing staff and Doctors, you were all wonderful and so caring, especially Oliver! The facilities provided are world class. Also thank you to the Australian tax payers.

I went for a Covid Test and all went well. However I was told at the time of the test that I was wearing my Mask the wrong way. I had the blue coloured side facing outward, which common sense told me was the correct way, even though everyone else had them with the blue side in. So I was told to throw the one I was wearing in the bin, which they had there in the corridor, and watched me throw it by lifting the lid etc, and gave me a new mask, which I wore with the blue coloured side inward. I just saw my GP. The reception staff told me I was wearing the mask the wrong way. The blue side needs to be facing outward. I explained that the Covid nurses at the Hospital told me the opposite. So I googled it and the GP receptionist was correct. The Covid Nurses were incorrect; and it does make a difference which way you wear the mask.

Gold Coast hospital is very good im in a private health fund but after I had a accident the public hospital saved my life with better head doctors and all the staff they put up with so much don't treat them differently treat people the way u wanna be treated nan and mum and aunty all worked at the old goldcoast the hospital is the best rember there are a lot of sick people there doing there best don't treat them with disrespect We are lucky we have public hospitals some countries please don't get angry with the staff its not there fault

A recent emergency dash to the GCUH led to urgent surgery The treatment and care I received was simply incredible and as an old RN I was both grateful and awed. Within 8 hours after presenting at the Emergency Dept I’d had bloods, X-rays ultrasound and cat scan and been diagnosed and admitted 20 Hours later - a Saturday- I had my surgery 3 days later home It didn’t cost me one cent We are indeed the lucky country and I’d like to thank my fellow tax payers as well as the staff- cleaners, catering staff, nurses and doctors
