Old school charm meet modern world service in excellence. If you are after a place to stay that has a heritage listing, a sense of character throughout, great guest rooms and facilities - Look no Further. I have stayed here a few times over the years and the consistencies is the care and cleanliness to the property, the exception customer service provided by all staff and the very modest and competitive rates to other local places. Rooms get services every four days of your stay, breakfast optionally supplied when booking direct, which comes with a large dining hall, and cute book nook and study for common spaces. Beds and pillows provide good comfort. Location is on point, with less than a 3 minute walk to South Yarra station and tram stops. They provide accommodation services for larger groups via booking direct. Thanks for making my stay exceptional. I will recommend to my friends when they come visit Melbourne / the CBD.

I really liked this hotel, but there are a few things you should know before going in. 1) There are only shared bathrooms. 2) Rooms are quite small, and there’s hostel rooms available, too. 3) No alcohol is allowed because they have a lot of camps with kids. 4) At busy breakfast times, there will be a lot of kids from the camps so it will be loud. Same goes for the bathrooms in the morning. 5) There is no elevator and no rooms on the ground floor. Be advised if you have heavy luggage or someone who can’t climb stairs. All in all, I really loved my stay here. The place itself is amazing and so beautiful looking! The bathrooms and breakfast times were not a problem after the kids left. The location was amazing and there are lots of nearby places to eat or get takeout. You can use the microwave and tea kettle in the kitchen, too. As well as all the cups and plates if you need to.

BEWARE before you book. WAS CHARGED 400 for a booking we checked in for. And their phone never answers to cancel your booking. Getting no response from them and are about to lodge a fraud cause. Disgusting.

Bad service and attitudes is always one of the worst things to encounter at a hotel, and that's what I got from the Manager right through to the cleaner. There were numerous maintenance problems, which saw whole sections of the building cordoned off. A broken toilet seat, large hole in the ceiling of the bathroom, cracked tiles in the shower and stained doona demonstrate a lacklustre management, and create an unpleasant, unwelcoming atmosphere. Especially with the covid19 pandemic, Bacterial hotspots like broken toilet seats, and cracked shower tiling, show a lack of care and commitment to the safety and comfort of the guests here and leaves one lacking of confidence in the aptitudes of the staff here. I booked for a week, but left after one night and the manager gave me a refund, but argued against my valid concerns. There were hairs in my doona also from the cleaner and someone else, showing further a lack of professionalism. Outside in the carpark are numerous secret society symbolism painted on the walls giving clear insight into the various proclivities of this hotel syndicate which has been there for at thirty eight years. I could not recommend this place, in any way except for the location and the rate of 350.00 per week is not expensive, but but bad memories last longer than the price of the room, so look elsewhere for a decent all round experience because there are many good businesses in South Yarra.

Nicely located; right on the busiest street in South Yarra! Rooms were rather small, but the bed was good. Showers were clean. People were friendly. Breakfast was very simple. Nevertheless, value for money if you want a nice location in Melbourne.

This is a lovely spot to spend a few nights. I found Ali, the main concierge to be incredibly helpful, friendly and accommodating. He went out of his way to help me out and to make sure I was comfortable. For a budget motel, this place a beautifully kept, with clean facilities and an amazing dining area. I would stay here again in a heart-beat. In fact, it will be my go-to from now on. Thank you so much for your time, Ali! x
