We stayed here for several nights over the Christmas break so that we could be near family. New amenities have been fully funded with construction starting in the new year sometime. The staff looking after the place are so friendly and really helpful. Nothing seems to be too much trouble. We intend to make Maitland Showgrounds our go to place each Xmas. Well done everyone and thanks very much. See you in 2021

First time to attend an open market since the pandemic started. So nice to see everything is back to normal again. The market was lovely as it has food stalls from different countries.
Not to bad to stay a little noisy from the trains if you are not used to them. Ray is most helpful and a great character
A fantastic venue for our 2020 Lions District Convention: plenty of room for Covid-19 social distancing, a great atmosphere in the historic pavilion, and friendly, cooperative showground staff.
On the first Sunday of every month, a Sunday market is held at the Maitland Show ground. Vendors sellany kind of wares including food, vegetables, fruits, art and crafts.
Nice spacious grounds with power and water available for campers. The office isn't always manned so have to phone the care taker when needed. Ladies toilets and showers needed a sweep out as there were leaves and dead bees everywhere but otherwise clean enough. Also need to check there is loo paper as one cubicle had run out and wasn't replenished even tho the cleaner had briefly looked in to the place. (I think that's all he did!) Seemed to have run out of hot water the first night but fine the next morning. Gates are locked from 6pm-6am so need a code to get in or out during that time. Also need a code for the amenities block as they are kept locked as well. Can be a bit tricky to use, may take several goes to get it open. Don't want to be in a hurry! Altogether not so great but served the purpose basically.
