I went into urbanest for a room tour today and the lady who showed me around was so lovely, was super friendly and was also informative and very detailed when explaining what the room and area was like. I would like to thank the fabulous lady once again! The room I was showed was a model room, I will update this review about how the actual room looks like when I move in. Hopefully it looks as good as the room I was showed today!

I had an appointment for the ensuite and the whole occasion was extremely frustrating. The administration was incapable of finding the motivation to do her job. On request of a tour for the facilities, she pointed at the corridor and said go have a lool yourself. I requested to see the actual ensuite i was to hypothetically lease and although she did show me, i was met with a passive aggressive "you already had a lool, we don't really do that but fine" *sighs heavily. *rolls eye. I was especially vulnerable for personal matters and as such have alot of anxiety, especially in concerns to shared accommodation specifically. I asked her essentially to reassure me that i had no worries regarding alcoholism, abuse, drug abuse, loudness, etc. She answered some of her questions but when answering questions for a potential tenant became tol difficult for her despite that being her job, to lease to tenants, she pointed at a giant wall of rules and said read them yourself. The whole place smelled, the students seemed reserved and not happy to be there, the rooms were the quality of a watch house and there's absolutely no competency in regards to service for students, most of ehich are isolated away from families especially in these times. Go to student one they by every metric are better, just not as cheap but they will find a decent deal for you.

The only thing cared here was the money you paid, rather than the services provided.

The air conditioning system has switched to heating mode since May this year In the first week of September, the manager said the air conditioning system will switch back to cooling mode in the following week as it is getting warmer. However, the air conditioning is still in heating mode and it’s almost reaching 30c in the coming week, which is the 4th week of September. The front desk receptionist claimed that they are waiting for air conditioning parts to get repaired. This is completely unacceptable as they made promise to switch back to cooling mode but unable to fulfil their promise as they keep saying “the air con will turn back to cooling mode this week” for a couple of times over the past few weeks but we can’t see any progress. They should not make these guarantee while they are unable to promise. Another major problem is about their laundry. Their washing machines and cloth dryers are still using coins while the other student accommodations nearby have switched to the use of contactless card payment. The dryers cannot dry the clothes thoroughly. They claimed that they will replace the washing machines and dryers at the end of January this year, and now it’s September. My friends and I have experienced numerous times that dryers are unable to dry the clothes and we need to ask the receptionists to give us token to dry the clothes again, while a receptionist refused to give token to my friend, saying that my friend had put too much clothes in it. This has doubled the time for drying clothes. These experiences cause me and my friends with troubles and inconvenience when we are staying in this accommodation, and this accommodation is the worst I’ve ever seen.

It provides me a wonderful living experience. I can meet many new friends who are from various countries so that I can learn about different cultures through chatting with them. More importantly, the staff are patient and friendly and the problems can be solved in time. I think this student accommodation is highly recommended.

Good place, with great staff. The location across the Brisbane river is really nice. Nearby attractions such as the beach, gardens and great eateries make this place worth living. The amenities are of very good standard, and we get to meet a lot of people from different parts of the world, making it a truly multicultural experience.
