I have been going to reformer Pilates for about 6 months using the class pass packs. These are great as it allows flexibility. I mainly go to the classes with Teresa and I absolutely love them. She always pushes and challenges me and takes the time to make sure you are using correct form so that you get the most out of the class. I have learnt so much from Teresa in the last 6 months and as a result feel so much stronger. The classes always have such a supportive and friendly atmosphere as well.

Learn more I joined Proactive Pilates casually at the start of the New Year, and shortly thereafter becoming addicted! - took out a membership. I had been doing cross-fit and gym training for several years, but as with old age, I was starting to notice injuries and soreness from this type of training. I was looking for another way to 'reinvent' myself. I first noticed beautiful top quality reformer pilates studios in downtown New York in December 2018; and as I watched these sleek New Yorkers on reformer beds, as I walked the streets of the Big Apple, I wondered if this was the transformation I was looking for?! I have loved every class at Proactive Pilates, the sublime sleekly styled studio, Teresa and her friendly team. It doesn't matter who is teaching, every class is different, individual and the instructors all have their own unique personality and style! The range of classes, session times and availability makes it super easy and convenient, and Teresa has put the effort to set everything up on apps etc. My injuries that were bothering me have become stronger and less present, and it is hard to explain, but I just do not feel as centered both in body and spirit without my fix of pilates. I am going to be really truthful here and let you know I cancelled my membership for a couple of weeks, thinking I would go back to the gym - I was miserable, missed the Proactive TEAM and the regulars I had started to get to know - big mistake! Needless to say, I cancelled my gym membership and quickly returned - and I'm smiling again!

Yesterday I had my first class with Proactive Pilates. I have been doing strength training at a gym so I thought I would find it too easy. However I decided to give it a try as I've always been curious. OMG! Easy it is not! If you've never done Pilates before trust me you'll discover muscles you never knew you had. And this studio is the best. It's sleek its new and the instructor Francesca was very very good. She was really experienced and her focus was on us all doing the exercises correctly and not on number of reps squeezed in. She also gave us alternatives. The easier version for people like me who need to build their core. And the tougher version for those who were more advanced. It was also all ages. From me in my 40s to ladies who were well into their 70s. I also had an assessment with Teresa. If you join don't skip the assessment. Teresa is very knowledgeable and she'll advise you on what you need or don't need. I felt very confident that I was in good hands with these ladies. Yesterday was my first class and I cant wait for the next one. I feel a Pilates addiction coming on!

I appreciated Teresa's attention to care. The Intro pack was a great way to introduce me back into Pilates. Although I have done Pilates in the past, it was a few years ago. Having Teresa's one-on-one care just to remind me of a few key techniques gave me the confidence to jump into my first class. Which was great fun this morning! Thanks Jessica!!

Teresa is an excellent instructor. I am very impressed with the intro package. I met with Teresa who gave me a one on one session. This gave me the opportunity to ask questions and for her to assess me. I really enjoyed the class, it was a tough workout. Teresa constantly came around to correct positioning. I felt totally comfortable and left the class on a high. Can't wait for my next class!!!

I’ve been making a conscious effort to do more exercise, but I’m not very fit or flexible to say the least. I’ve been walking past most days and decided yesterday was the time to try Pilates for the first time. I was really surprised at how gentle it was, but challenging at the same time. I started using the intro package. The first lesson Teresa listened to what I was after, clearly explained the foundations of Pilates and suggested the most appropriate classes for my aims and current level. She even helped me understand what the cheapest option is for me (I work FIFO, so don’t usually get if memberships). I did my first group reformer class late yesterday morning. I felt so comfortable and welcome. Today my muscles feel used, and tomorrow I’m off to my second class. It was a really positive experience.

I start with an intro class 1 on 1 with Teresa, who was an amazing instructor. She was really good at explaining the bases of reformers very detailed (i'm new at this) and show in a very friendly way. I really enjoy it and it was nice to feel comfortable to ask any doubts.

I really appreciated the one on one session with Teresa as part of the Intro package - this made me feel so much more confident and keen to begin the sessions especially coming in to it with a significant knee injury. Teresa helped me feel at ease and very capable which made me want to keep coming back!
