I had broken ribs and internal bleeding last night, fitted and fainted so was ushered through. I was looked after by Dr David and nursing staff Rae & Emma. They and the triage nurse could not have been better or more compassionate. You are such wonderful people and a terrific example of true healthcare professionals. Thank you so very much.

Last week I attended epworth emergency department for celulitis of my leg. I received outstanding care from nurse Simone and nurse Judy who attended to my wound with precision and care. I remember Simone from my last visit after a bike accident where she also treated me with incredible care and expertise. Both Judy and Simone were friendly and happy this made my dressing as pleasant experience as it could be. Some of the best nursing care I have ever received. The medical attention was also excellent from Dr Rugless and Dr Krelle.

Terrible experience yet again. The only efficient process in that place is charging you 350 before they even see you.Drs diagnosis completely wrong. In any other business you would have to refund a customer. Do not go unless you have no choice.

Very poor experience. Would never recommend to anyone and would never go back again. Was there tonight. Got hit on my head and been referred by GP concerning for braining bleeding. Waited for nearly two hours until I told one of the triage nurses that I was starting to feel heavy nauseous and dizzy, and cannot sit and wait any longer because I want to vomit. The man simply said “you can stand and wait” and walked off. The other reception staff was sympathetic and apologised. If you really don’t care then don’t deserve this job. Unfortunately we did not get the male nurse’s name.

If i had the option to give zero star i would, i was forced to stay with people who had flu and cough even though i come for a totally different complaint. After spending 7 hours in the normal emergency ward i was without my consent and no notice shifted in the ward with people who were suspected to have the virus and were sick with the flu, all because of an incompetent dr who can't assess patients properly. She put my safety at risk. You don't go to a hospital to get more sick and get influenza when you are already at the hospital for other reasons. I would advise no one to go to this hospital till they have such doctors working for them. I had no option but to leave even though my condition was not good.

The team at Epworth emergency are amazing. They are friendly, caring and excellent communicators. Handover between shifts was thorough and gave us confidence in being looked after properly. Thanks for looking after my wife (and me).

Excellent emergency department! I attended Saturday evening and was seen immediately. Staff are incredibly efficient, professional and caring. The physician who treated me, Claude is an amazing doctor and was extremely knowledgeable, thorough and attentive. After seeing two GPS in the day prior to attending Epworth, Claude was the first doctor who accurately diagnosed my condition and treated it effectively. I am so glad that I attended Epworth Emergency and I really couldn't be more grateful.

The medical staff were very good but the PROCESS of going through Emergency was terrible. Signage says to go to triage initially but that's not correct - you're meant to take a red chair and wait to be called by the triage nurse. There is no system for keeping track of who is next for triage. Eight patients came in on the evening I visited - admin staff suggested 'as long as you all know what order you came in'. The fast-track area for 'easily treated conditions' is not staffed separately so if medical staff are needed in the higher priority emergency area you could be waiting a long time - that was my experience on the evening I attended. Scans (such as CTs) are reported off-site in the evenings (don't know about daytime) with no indication about how long that will take. After 6 hours waiting in the incongruously named 'fast-track' area, the doctor said there was no way of telling how much longer the radiology report would be so it was probably best to treat my injury as the worst-case scenario, go home and the next shift would call me with the results in the morning (which they did). I have been a frequent visitor to the Emergency Department with my late father for 30 years - the facilities may have been upgraded but nothing else has improved. One thing remains constant though - the process for paying the 300 fee is outstandingly well-organised.
