Went to Reid River Rest Area and met Bert the Rooster. It was a pretty good facility but Bert was pretty stuck up. Also there's no drinking water.
Reid River Rest Area is a quiet place, and you can camp there BUT there is a time limit of 20 hours then you must move on. Off the highway. Very good facilities. Toilets, shaded areas, under over seating and tables. Nice walking track on Northern side (beside rail line). Good photo opportunity from rail bridge. Check for train. The bridge overlooks Reid River.
good facilities but the gray nomads could look after the areas they have camped in a little bit better
Great overnight stop between Townsville and charters towers.
Loads of parking for Van's etc. Big amenities block!
