Made a reservation for 6:30pm, and arrived a few minutes earlier. It was undeniable packed with customers that night. The staff were rushing all over the place, and had ignored us for a bit though it was understandable. We were finally seated when a staff came to help us out, and for the rest of the night, the staff attending to us were sweet, though I can feel the stress in their heads since it was so busy. My partner and I had the buffet, and we had ordered so much food that it was overwhelming. Everything tasted incredible, and not a bit of meat was left to waste. The cooking grill was a bit difficult at first. We had really thinly sliced meat served to us initially so a lot of it was stuck to the grill. All the other meats weren’t a problem though. Everything tasted so good, and we soon realised that they were using a very similar kind of sauce for all the meats we were getting. Not that it was a problem, because the sauce definitely made it taste better. There was such a large array of foods to choose from that it would be a lot better if you saw it for yourself, but I can definitely say there’s something for everyone, and its well worth it. The quality of the food is also exceptional. Would definitely come back again, and Id highly recommend to come here on an empty stomach so you can fully indulge yourself with this.

WORST dining experience ever!! I would give a zero star if I could! ! Firstly, one of the staff said we could sit on the two tables connected together as we have 5 people. 5 minutes later they say it’s fully booked. so one person had to sit on the walking path! ! I would totally understand if the table were actually booked! But during our almost 2 hours of dining, the table was never occupied!! There were also other empty tables in the room!! So what is even the point of lying?? Secondly, on the basis not wasting any food, we ordered 2 fruit platters for 5 people. Guess what?? 2 ‘fruit platters’ equals to two pieces of orange and 2 pieces of thinly sliced rockmelon!! Im not even exaggerating! One of my friends didn’t even get a piece of fruit for paying like 50.90 for the buffet? We had to argue to get her some fruit as last order was made? ?TOTALLY not worth it!!

Sometimes these /5 ratings are about as trustworthy as a politicians hands under a banquet table. Here at the 4.1*koh ya, I can kinda see why some fellow eaters are not seeing the 5* scene. This is not Tokyo department store Japanese dining (paradoxically excellent), but we are in the spot, randwick, which is let me put it kindly, not an epicurean epicentre. There's enough in the area that's good enough, and this place is at the better end...reliable, mostly Korean takes on Japanese food...which is pretty normal. The cook yourself options are fine, though they'd benefit from some pungent Korean sauces. The real stars are the more mundane menu items...seaweed soup, sashimi, and stone pot bibimba...all served as quick as said politicians hands, and at prices that work.

Koh-Ya is a popular Japanese restaurant in The Spot at Randwick. Most of the tables have a gas bbq in the centre of it where you cook your own food. It’s a fun activity to do with a small group of friends. You choose raw food options from the menu which include Beef, pork, chicken and seafood. As well as some vegetable and side dishes like rice and salad.

Literally my favourite restaurant in Sydney. Staff are so lovely and the food is always fast and fresh. Absolutely would recommend the 50 menu. Salmon sashimi and wagyu beef are a must have. Lots of vegetarian options too! Been there 4 times this year already!

First, very bad customer service. Second,the portion gets smaller and smaller as you order for the buffet. Last, it is ridiculous that only 2 pices of orange and 2 thin slices of rockmelon came when you ordered 2 fruit platters. Btw one of my friends got diarrhoea after the meal. Really sorry for my friend and I will not take them back to this resturant again.

We tried out their entry point banquet. It's an experience, if it's your first time listen carefully, there are a few instructions and conditions; it's 1.30 hours long, you need to have sorted out the whole eating in that period, don't order too much or you could get a surcharge and you are going to BBQ everything yourself and smell like it too it is kin vs of confusing to start with and rusty don't give much direction or recommendation of what or how to do things! Having said that service was both friendly and pleasant. The location is child friendly in that they have s children play area, but you do need to make sure that are not close to the actual BBQ!
