I saw Nicky Sygall in 2014 when I was 19, just under 2 yrs after I sustained an injury and began suffering from complex regional pain syndrome. When I asked if she could find me a GP, she pressured me into seeing a rehab specialist from her hospital. I declined ongoing treatment by this doctor, as i responded poorly to physical rehab in the past, so Nicky and the doctor spoke to my housing service to mislead them into thinking that I had an urgent medical problem and had to be sent to the Emergency Department. I still remember Nicky sitting in my living room, telling me that a medical condition I had since 2012 couldn’t wait more than 5 days to be dealt with. Much of this was to get me into hospital and have me assessed by a psychiatrist to see if they could institutionalise me and force me to undergo physical rehab against my wishes. When this attempt failed, the rehab doctor (not Nicky) asked the psychiatrists whether I could be put under a guardianship as well (ie take away my medical consent rights permanently). Also, I was physically abused by patient transport staff upon discharge from St Vincent’s. I had to hide what happened from the doctors because I was terrified that they would use that to coerce me into hospital again. This is Nicky Sygall. This is what she and her colleagues did to me.
