What a beautiful place, did not get inside because it was closed but the outside gardens were beautiful. One of the oldest standing residential houses of Brisbane. Even said to have a ghost of a nanny that worked there.

Gorgeous place with such a great rich history. The heritage building is stunning and very well kept. The gardens and greenery of the grass areas are amazing. Great place to have a picnic or a relaxing walk along the water.

Newstead house has a lot of history about the the house and the grounds. The grounds are immaculate and perfect which I think is very good. Inside the house their is a lot of history to get your head around but how the house is setup it is perfect. The house and grounds are beautiful in every way. But their is only one problem their is not enough parking and even when their is the driveway is too small and it is hard to park and if you park on the street you have to pay. Other than that the grounds are immaculate and they are beautiful. Good job keeping the grounds beautiful you should be proud

Nice park by the river and all these cool night light features. It feels a bit quiet though at night so best not to go alone. Otherwise during the day it is very family friendly and a very open park but it fills up pretty fast on a weekend picnic scene

Beautiful location on a bend in the river giving expansive views. Great spot for a picnic (or a wedding!) with lush grassy areas, shaded areas, easy to get to by bike. Some limited parking nearby. The House is definitely worth visiting. Make sure you join in on a tour with a volunteer guide. There’s some really interesting history with significant visitors along the way. Look out for the ‘Lucinda’ chair - it’s providence is linked to Australia’s Constitution!
