A nice small, indie cafe with rugged brick decor. Exceptional food and coffee, nice service and very clean. However, not recommended for readers as there is music throughout just a tad too loud to concentrate.

My husband and I had breakfast here one morning while we were on holiday and really enjoyed it. I had a breakfast stack and it was delicious. My husband had pancakes and they were some of the best pancakes I've tasted in a while. The cafe has a great atmosphere and friendly service. Would definitely recommend this to anyone.
Good food. Group of 8 people, not too long of a wait. Plenty of seats .. decent cafe food at a reasonable price for this area ( 17 -20 dollars a head for brunch for mains)
Happy to say that 22 is back on top of its game. In the past few years it has been up and down. Now it is UP and consistent. Good coffee, great food and fabulous, friendly, accommodating waiters. Haven't checked out dinner yet but have been quite a few times for brekky. Terrific.

Great place for a Sunday morning brunch, mostly thanks to the decor. The brick walls and the semi-open area make for a very cosy place. The coffee is nice, and you'll find classic brunch food. A nice find in the fairly boring area that is Pyrmont.
Excellent lunch time option even if you are in a rush. I was in a rush at lunch time so I have asked for a takeaway sandwich at cafe xxii. They did it in about 5 minutes and it was delicious. 10/10 would do it again.
