Great hiking track and super fantastic lake. Blue lake reminds me of William Maugham’s short fiction “The Trembling of a Leaf”. Good place to spend your summer time

Beautiful lake. Nice, cool dip. Quite a lot of people though.
Mining and natural resource extraction generally impact negatively on ecosystems. The presence of frogs here perhaps shows the unexpected result of 'mining' improving ecosystem diversity.
A nice little oasis of nature in suburbia with bird and water sounds which adds to this meditative walk
It's a beautiful place, just beware of snakes
Adding review just to note that the road going down to the blue lake parking/mountain bike parking area (goldsworthy lane) is closed for the foreseeable future due to road works. If you want to go to the lake then you need to park on the crn of memorial dr & goldsworthy lane (see the blue dot on the photo) & walk down roughly 30minutes to get there. You’ll get to the picnic & toilet area after about 20min. Will update review & stars when the area is reopened.
Great secret, not so secret spot... No bbqs
