One of Hunter Valley’s best kept secrets. We stayed at the nearby barracks so didn’t have to pay entry. Usually entry is 10 for above 15 year olds which is great value. Great place to spend an hour and soak up some history and nostalgia. Staff is very friendly (like almost everyone in the Hunter!) and very knowledgeable about the local history. On the tour you get these cool audio devices where you input a number that corresponds to one of the many sights and it gives your a great audio description. Highlights for me were the vintage Rolls Royce and the amazing garden overlooking the creek.
Learnt a lot about the history of the homestead, very colourful it was too. The gardens were beautiful too
This place has an amazing history and is the best spot to have your Wedding and reception or just to stay. Staff are switched on and know how to impress food is amazing. The care taker is an awesome bloke to knows all the history and is always happy to show you around
Always Interesting, History of an era gone by thats well maintained frozen in time. Worth a visit & picnic lunch.
This is as good as going back in time. The people really know their history and its a beautiful spot.
